Li River & Daxu

The Li River in southern China has been the subject of poetry and paintings since the 6th century.  Its karst limestone peaks reach 980 feet.  The river cruise was an idyllic 52 mile stretch below Guilin.

Daxu is a Song-era market town that time passed by when its tributary to the Li River silted up.  Though it is near Guilin, few tourists go there.
